Vanessa Ribeiro Rodrigues

She is a journalist, documentary filmmaker and university professor. She navigates between poetry, journalism, literature, documentary, photography and academic research. She collaborates independently with several media outlets. She is a researcher in Communication for Development and a Master in Information and Journalism. She directed the documentary film Baptismo de Terra, about Portuguese emigration in Rio de Janeiro, which received the Best Portuguese Documentary Award at the Art&Tur Film Festival and a special TV mention at the Avanca Film Festival. The TSF reportage Palestine, diaries from an uncertain place won an honorable mention in the Journalism Prize Human Rights & Integration – UNESCO (2015). In 2014 she was awarded the OFF FLIP literary prize, Paraty, Brazil, in the short story category.
