The Portuguese Chamber Orchestra was founded by Pedro Carneiro, Teresa Simas, José Augusto Carneiro and Alexandre Dias in July 2007. The artistic direction of OCP is taken by Pedro Carneiro, who leads the most recent and virtuoso generation of Portuguese instrumentalists, since its premiere at the CCB’s season opening on September 13, 2007. OCP’s vision is to become one of the best orchestras in the world, affirming itself as a project with credibility and social and cultural pertinence, born out of a genuine action of proactive citizenship.
OCP was a pioneer in Social Responsibility models and develops several Social and Pedagogical Responsibility projects: the Young Portuguese Orchestra (JOP), OCPsolidária and OCPdois.

Participating in MEXE

• To participate in the actions it is mandatory to pick up a ticket at the spaces where they take place. The following projects are exceptions: Herbário Anticolonial and AS BRAVAS: um manifesto, for which registration must be made through mexe.org.pt

• Exceptions are the actions presented at Culturgest, CRL - Central Electric, Teatro Carlos Alberto/TNSJ, Teatro Municipal do Porto.Campo Alegre and Teatro Viriato.

• The ticket office will only be available one hour before the start of the performances, at the venue where they take place.
