Teacher and integrated researcher at the Institute of Communication of the New University of Lisbon (ICNOVA) and collaborator at the Institute of Art History (IHA) of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the New University of Lisbon, being co-responsible in both centers for the cluster Performance art & performativities in the arts. She also collaborates at the Centre for Theatre Studies (CET/FLUL) as a researcher of the Research Group Theatre and Image and of the project PERPHOTO – Dramaturgies of the gaze. Crossings between photography and theater in the Portuguese and international context (PTDC/ARTPER/31693/2017). Conducted a post-doctoral research entitled Social Art. Performative Art? (2009-2012) and a PhD in Sociology on Hybridity in the Performing Arts in Portugal (2007) at the Instituto de Ciências Sociais da Universidade de Lisboa. She is the author of the books Performance Art Made in Portugal (ICNOVA, in press 2020), Hybrid. Do Mito ao Paradigma Invasor? (Mundos Sociais, 2010) and Novos Notáveis: Os Programadores Culturais (Celta, 2002). He has written several articles on new forms of hybridity, mediation and performativity in the arts; he has organized several conferences and scientific meetings for academic and non-academic audiences; he has been a jury and member of support committees in the area of transdisciplinary projects for the Institute of Arts; he has participated in the creation of performance shows and has curated exhibitions of theater photography. He teaches Drama and Performance Theories in the Metamorphosis of Performance degree and Cultural Programming in the Performing Arts and Communication and Arts masters of the Department of Communication Sciences at NOVA FCSH.
