1000 Silent Heroins

Women Connected

Community arts can change lives. Through the eyes of five women, the theater group Women Connected is introduced. While the collective was working hard for a sold-out premiere in one of Rotterdam’s largest theaters, the film introduces us to Aïda, Jacqueline, Sara, Charahzad and Shamin. These women take us on a roller coaster ride of emotions as they share excerpts from their life stories. Despite their different cultures, they share similar experiences – like escaping from war. Slowly they realize that they have found a new home sharing the stage and being part of the Women Connected collective.

Participating in MEXE

• To participate in the actions it is mandatory to pick up a ticket at the spaces where they take place. The following projects are exceptions: Herbário Anticolonial and AS BRAVAS: um manifesto, for which registration must be made through mexe.org.pt. 

• Exceptions are the actions presented at Culturgest, CRL - Central Electric, Teatro Carlos Alberto/TNSJ, Teatro Municipal do Porto.Campo Alegre and Teatro Viriato.

• The ticket office will only be available one hour before the start of the performances, at the venue where they take place.
